PPQ in a Shaggy w/ leather backing = ultra comfy.
Just need some decent sights for the gun now...
late-war PP:
i have no idea if it is one of the 'cigarette guns' or a 'last ditch' thrown together piece but both serials match the period and it was given to me by my father with one mag which has the orange base plate.
seeing Wes' nice looking PP on the first page of this thread was cool...
sweet p38... nice catch. =]
Started as a standard HK P30 LEM, converted to light LEM, sent it to Gray guns for their RRCDP to smooth out the pull and cut the uber long P30 stock reset, as well as install Heinie Straight 8 night sights. Found a P30L barrel that had been professionally cut down and threaded, seen here with my new acquired AAC Tirant 45 with conversion piston. I shot about 100 rds of 124gr Winchester Ranger NATO FMJs, Blaser Brass, and some Federal HSTs. Obviously they are all pretty fast (don't have any 147gr or subsonic ammo right now) but hearing safe and fun to shoot.
Also had a RCS OWB holster made for it with the X5L on - it's a P30L cut holster to allow it to be used both with or without the threaded barrel installed.
It's my HD / Range OC / woods gun, so it won't get tons of time suppressed, but I wanted to give it a decent try to ensure it all worked well. The Tirant is primarily for the HK45C and my DDLES 9MM AR SBR.
