Cutting Noveske N4 Barrel w/ Switchblock

Ok, here's the deal. I have a 16" N4 barrel with the Swithcblock installed. I am going to send it to ADCO to have it cut down to 12.5 inches. I will then be installing an M4-2000 suppressor on it, which will stay in place most of the time.

    1. Does anyone here have one that has been cut down?

    2. Does anyone know what the proper gas port size needs to be?

    3. Any known issues with it afterwards?

Just out of curiosity, it strikes me that the 10.5" would be better for the M4-2000 vs. the SPR/M4 on a 12.5" barrel, no?

I would not cut a barrel w/a switch block on it and start screwing with the gas ports.

NRW put alot of time and data putting that block together, and if for some reason the gas port is not perfectly resized it will not work and negate the entire purpose of the switch block.

And being that you want it down to 12.5, I dont think NRW has even come out w/that data yet for a 12.5 switch block. Even if you could convince them to share it with you, if they dont have it, we are SOL. So unless you know for 100% certainty what size you need that gas port resized, what size the switch block regulates at each setting, and how much gas that specific 12.5 bbl needs to run, I'd avoid it.

I'd ditch the barrel on the EE, and contact Wes @ MSTN. I know for a fact he has some 10.5 N4 bbls w/switch blocks in stock..

I'd hate to see you end up with a bbl that you'd have to ditch the switch block completely on...

Are those Bravo 11.5s gone already???

I had to slap my own hand when I saw those were FINALLY available. I already overpaid for a SABRE DEFENCE.

I don't have any data or plans to test a Mid gas 12.5" barrel.

You should wait for our 12.5" barrel w/Switchblock or the the clamp on Switchblock for a carbine gas 12.5" barrel.

Same here. I think you'd be better to run the barrel as is or buy another barrel of the length you prefer.

I broke down and bought a BCM 11.5 upper. I guess I'll use the 16" musket upper for some other project.

ETA: Nevermind, found the answer to my question. http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bin...since=&status=

Wait, so does the switchblock work with the 12.5" ss barrels right now? I was batting around the idea of having MSTN build me one when he gets some of those barrels in...
