Mag length?

On another forum it was stated that 2.230" was the max length for 30rd P-mags and 2.250 for 20 rd GI mags. I have been loading to 2.260 without any problems for years. Am I just lucky or does anyone else have any input?

My Speer and Hornady manuals both say 2.26

All in spec 223/556 ammo I've shot runs fine in the Pmag. I don't measure any of it, I just shoot it.

Just about every .223 load coming out of my press has been right at 2.260" or slightly less. That should work just fine, it has fed in every USGI (20 or 30) rounder or every PMAG I've tried, including the Gen 1 PMAGS.
