I have this scope and love it.

32 MM definetly allows/has more light capability.

Is there any reason why I could/should/would choose the NF 2.5x10 24 over the 32?

As well as the recticle option as well. I saw that the NP-R2 has a good reputation. Any reason to definately take it over the mil dot (if anything, the NP-R2 is MOA with MOA adjustment, which is a bit easier then converting mil to MOA).

I am also stuck on wether I should go with the 24 or 32. Also, is there not a Mil-Dot reticle with Mil/Mil adjustments??? And are they First Focal Plane or Second? If they're second focal plane, would it even be worth spending that much money, to not even be able to range properly?

Also, just found out they are offering the Zero stop on the 24 and 32

Someone help...need to buy one of these real soon.

IMHO-I would get the NF 2.5-10x32 and not look back. I think NF maybe making that choice for us though last time I called they told me they were discontinuing the 24mm. I've played with both and I'd say the 32mm wins in field of view and light transmission and the only advantage of the 24 would be a smaller overall size. I think for the price they cant be beat. I have seen many NF scopes beat to shit on rifles and they still worked perfectly.

MIL/min- choose what ever one your more comfortable with but my recommendation is if you go MILs go all MILs-MIL reticle and MIL adjustments and do your wind and dope cards in MILs. If you go min then min adjustment and min reticle with min dope and wind cards. I've been harping on that for years why do we have scopes in min adjustment with MIL reticles and call wind and dope in min and use a 2nd focal plane???

I think a 2nd focal plane scope is fine for this rifle but anything larger you need to be looking at a FFP.

Is the LT-104 or LT-139 preferred for the 2.5-10X NF?

Another Vote for: NightForce 2.5-10x24/32 Mil/Mil w/ Zero Stop. Might as well spend the coin the first time then ??? it after, IMO.

    Also, I prefer these two:

LaRue Tactical LT-104 SPR QD Mount 1.5" Height 30mm

edit: Forgot to add, LaRue Tactical LT-158 SPR-S QD Mount 1.41" Height 30mm
    * Also Has 10MOA Built In, Not that the NF 2.5-10x24/32 needs it.

What do you consider to be the ideal optic for a MK12? Do not limit yourself to what the military is actually using. I am looking for the best scope for this rifle taking into consideration weight, magnification range, etc, and what is appropriate for what this rifle was designed to do. I will use it for 100 to 600 yards bullseyes and plinking. If I get good enough, I may enter some sniper competitions with it.

How important is a front focal plane reticule for this type of usage?

Here's my list so far in no particular order:
    1. US Optics SN3-1002 1.8-10 x 37mm JNG MOA Illumin. 24oz
    2. IOR 2-12 x 36 SPARTAN 35mm Tactical Illuminated MP-8 Dot or CQB Reticule 24oz
    3. IOR 2.5-10 x 42 Tactical FFP, MP-8 Dot Illuminated Reticule 21oz
    4. Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x 32mm Illum.NP-R2 Reticle w/ zero stop 19oz
    5. Nightforce NXS 3.5-15 x 50 F1 30oz
    6. Leupold MK 4 MR/T 2.5–8×36 Illum. 16oz
    7. Leupold MK 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 TMR 19.5oz
    8. Leupold MK 4 3.5-10 x 40mm LR/T M2 Illuminated TMR 19.5oz
    9. Swarovski Z6i 1.7-10x42 L 18oz
The NF 2.5-10x was quite literally made with the MK12 in mind.
