Yes, on the original CZ-75 or the B models, you need to either engage the safety and carry Condition 1 or lower the hammer manually, riding it down, and carry Condition 2.. The BD models do have a decocker but then you can't carry Condition 1.

I picked up a SP-01 and VZ-58 on the same day in February (I was in a Czech mood that day). Sadly I got the one with the decocker. Such a great shooting gun but I kick myself for not getting the manual safety model.

I take it that the original CZ75 and CZ75B is to be carried like a 1911? They are double action though, so you could still fire from say a condition 2 setup, round in chamber hammer down safety off?
I know some older GIs talk about carrying their 1911s in condition 2 but they would have to thumb the hammer to fire.
