Hi, I have read some here have reduced their G17s' grip G19 length. I'm thinking of having this done, but will it introduce any possible side effects? Pictures would be great too, I searched and only found 2 or 3 that have done this.
thanks

I'd like to know about this as well, I think a 17 with a 19-length grip could be the best of both worlds.

Easily done. Measure, mark, tape, cut.

My personal 2nd gen Glock 17 has this mod done to it. I have not encountered any problems with it so far. Nor any of my customers pistols that I have done my chop job to them.
My Glock 17 with G19 grip chop job.
Glock 34 with standard length grip vs. G17 with "grip Chop Job".
Enhanced G17 with stippled Kasper / Crawford folder.
Glock 30 SF-Long slide (Actually a Glock 21SF with a grip chop job - Glock 19 length), "Urazame" texturing.
GotM4 had some similar work done by Hatfield Gunsmiffin' in Manassas, VA. He posted a thread about it here as well.

I was hoping to do this as well. Anyone have any recent pictures of this? I have an older G22 and a tonne of G23 mags ...

Scroll down to the bottom. There was a recent post (uwe1) of a 17 chopped for 19 mags. He links to another page and talks some about performing the job on his gun.
