Bobsled single shot competition "magazine" installed with a magazine lock that requires a tool to drop the mag. It's not a detachable mag since you can't use your digit to manipulate the release. There is no law preventing someone from rendering a single shot pistol to semi auto after DROS (Dealer Record Of Sale, CA term). Use the tip of a round of ammunition to release the sled magazine and install a 10rd mag. Semi auto AR15 that's CA legal. Been doing this since last summer and the CA DOJ hates my guts. That means I'm doing my job.
Anyone got any pics?
I still have never seen anyone demonstrate how these are anything more than toys.
NOT in training for combat deployment.
Ofcourse they are toys. They are totally impractical, but the are cool anyway. Some folks like single shot rifles, to me those are silly aswell.
A complete single shot <---(thats the exemption for the dealers record of sale/DROS) may be had in Ca.
Here is my contribution.
5.56
Aircraft Armament (Los Gatos, Ca.) pistol lower
Random Cardinal stripped upper
Old Colt 1/7 barrel I had sitting around cut to 7.5in
Colt FA BCG
PRI CH
Daniel Defense 7.0 M4 rail
Ace buffer kit
Magpul MIAD
IIRC...Highstandard LPK
Tango5 EBR
Troy BUIS
some KNS pins
Duracoated Tactical FDE

I used a lower receiver parts kit from Midwest Industries for the action mechanism , and though it came in a clear plastic bag with no name brand, I am pleased with it. I like light triggers so when I'm sitting around watching TV I Dry fire it With foam ear-plugs stuffed into the workings to prevent frame battering.

Uhhhh...., anyone got any suggestions on where I should go with this build?
Just my n00b opinion..you have two ways of looking at it.
Realize and embrace the impracticality of the AR pistol.
Get the smallest barrel you can find and just have fun plinking, making a huge fireball, and generally scaring the guys to the left and right of your bench.
or
Try to make it as practical as possible.
That being making it the size of your average SBR. 10.3in-12in barrel.
What do you have in mind cal. wise?
