    Dry fire advice for Noob

So I'm wondering, is it ok to fully retract the charging handle and let it slam home on an empty chamber, or am I going to break something?

Doing that is not a dry fire, and no, it will not hurt the rifle.

The _Katar recomended to me to perform a great deal of dry fire (Pulling the trigger with no ammo) while holding the sights on target to help me battle my flinch/jerk with trigger manipulation. It may eventually hurt the fireing pin, but this would likely take thousands upon thousands of dry fire pulls, and the fireing pin would be swapped out by then any ways.
I save money using AMSOIL full synthetic lubricants. Do you?
