    Federal Gold Match W/69g Bullet(GM223M)

I finally found some defense ammo heavier than 55g for my AR. I have been trying to get some 5.56 TAP, but have been coming up empty(or at least didnt want to pay the price asked). I picked up some Gold Dot 5.56 64g and found lots of data on it, but I also picked up some Federal Gold Match loaded with the 69g Sierra Matchking(GM223M) and I cant find any info on them to figure out if its a decent defense load or not. I searched here and google and didnt come up with anything. Any data on this load from the Doc?

    Federal 69gr HPBT Serria MatchKing?

What is the deal with this round? I know at one time it was very popular. I understand that it was the standard FBI round at one time. In hunting and target circles it is still used and is very accurate.

So why did it fall out of favor and what replaced it? How does it stand up today? I still have a few hundred rounds of it and I am wondering if I should just shoot it up and go with something else or continue to buy it?

That is weird. Clearly something is 'in the air'.

Anyway, gang, what is the deal?
