For now it is.
My original SAW gunner went down with rhabdo a few weeks back and for now it's me and a SAW until he gets the nod from the PA to get back on the line.
If you get the S&S holster, make sure you put loctite on the threads of the screws that attach it to its mounting plate. It comes with a little on there from the factory, but I had to put more on because it would start walking itself loose every few days. I love it, for what it's worth. It's so much better than weapon mounting the 320.
There are *some* places we still have that policy. I fought that tooth and nail since PCS'ing to the 82nd, and that was how we trained all the way up until JRTC pre-deployment. I used to flat out refuse to carry the 320 when I first got here and made a Joe train on it.
In country, we do have Joe rocking the 320, but I wouldn't be surprised if it changes when we re-deploy.
The good thing about this unit is that the Special Operations Recruiting Battalion are getting a lot of emails...

HA!
I know that in my Platoon alone, one of our guys is dropping a packet to go back to RASP, three of our TLs are getting the paperwork together to return to SFQC, and three others put their packets in for SFAS. I don't know what I want to do post-deployment, but I think I'll just go to Ranger School and recycle enough to ETS out of RTB.
