I use these targets which were designed for optics on battle rifles. Typically takes me 6 shots to zero and a group of 3 to confirm and hold.

I like black 2" squares. Usually 4 per sheet of paper. 1 if zeroing for first time.

Get them free online....print one off and then take it to a local print shop. Have them make a hundred of so copies on thick paper for a few bucks.

And I do the 50 yard zero for RDS.

About anything will do. I prefer simple targets I can reproduce on a photocopier. 1-6" filled-in circles are easy for various distances.

I also like David Blinder's 25m optic zero target, here:

I use the basic 25M M16A2 zero target out at 50 yards.
I had a link to a printable version but I can't find it...

Aimpoint CompML2 on 14.5" Bushmaster using my range bag (GI tool bag) as a rest.

Not true, or I would have never started this thread. Go try and sight in on a yellow target with red bullseye and tell me how that works for you.

Shouldn't you be using your large aperture for shorter distances? Otherwise you will be shooting lower than expected using your larger CQB aperture. Honest question as I really don't know.

    I used this: http://www.bobdbob.com/~deneb/doc/ta...2-25m-zero.pdf

Don't know what anyone else thinks about it...

EDIT: I missed the picture AMMOTECH posted, this is a printable version of the target.

8.5 x 11.5 piece of 1/2" graph paper with a 2" Shoot-N-See dot in the middle. Don't forget to account for sight over bore difference if zero-ing from 25 yards.

I zero my BUIS (cut carry handle) @ 50y using the small hole and just leave it there. I don't change it.
