    SA SOCOM II Chamber

Is the SOCOM II chambered for "commercial" .308, or is it chambered for 7.62NATO?

Are all current versions of the Springfield M1A chambered the same?

    Thanks,

    Pete

I'd be extremely surprised if it's 7.62 NATO, the non USGI barrels that Springfield have been using are .308 Win. chambered.

That said, I've seen several that ran fine with surplus South African and Portuguese, but I've also seen some that choked badly.

Thanks Templar, much appreciated. I have run a variety of commercial and surplus ammo through my SOCOM with no evident ill-effect, but I wonder if my luck will run out soon.

When you say "choked," can you tell me what happened?
