While I'd LOVE to get a Scar and SBR it, I can't justify the initial cost of just the gun.
Made some changes to my 12.5 "General Purpose Carbine"
Changed:
11in Vtac TRX Extreme to a 10in MI Rail(Had it on hand, using until I find something else)
Vltor A5 w/ MagPul ACS
Trying to decide what optic I want. I'm down to the TR24-G I think. Just not 100% sure yet.
Waiting on my Troy BUIS.

Why the change from the VTAC to MI handguard?
tryin something different. it balances better with the extra weight of the ACS and A5 on the back. I had the MI rail laying around from an older build. Just using this until I figure out what route I wanna go, probably a DD Lite of some kind

I love my TR24G. Its a perfect all purpose optic if you don't mind the added weight. I also have a TA44SR-10 ACOG which is nice and light but I still am getting used to the reticle. Also an Eotech is a good choice but the always popular Aimpoint T-1 wins out in battery life. Of course the Trijicon's never need batteries. Ever.
Just wish I had an SBR.
Between growing up hunting, to 3gun, I'm so used to looking thru a scope, mostly a 4x scope, that if I could afford it, I'd really like an ACOG with the Horse Shoe reticle, but the TR24G will be fine.

Go with the TR24 JW...that's a fantastic play for our similar shared vision of a GP or Outdoor CQB type carbine
FYI...AR's don't work when they get wet, or least ones that don't have a piston

Trident.
Why'd you flip out the selector switch with another one that was 90 degrees?
If you were gonna flip it out, wouldn't you have gone with the BAD-ASS 45 degree one?
Also I was wondering why the 300m sight? (I've always liked the 200-600m one more.)
We miss you, AC.
We miss you, ToddG.
Great pics, Mr. Fuhrman! As far as swapping the rail out later, if this one works and balances, why bother?
Trident's right, you need to watch LWRC's little vid of how piston ARs fire full auto, problem free after being immersed in a pond.
