If you've been around long enough you'll recognize the subject line's play-on-words.
You'll also probably remember that during the 1980's, stainless steel was all-the-rage among handgun enthusiasts. Before most shooters had ever envisioned polymer frames and high-tech coatings, stainless was then considered the ultimate in handgun refinement. Popular immortalizations include Don Johnson as Sonny Crockett with the S&W 4506 in Miami Vice.
Nowadays regarded by some to be too gaudy and pimped-out, I still admire the appearance of most stainless handguns as having a simple elegance. It continues to have a market place among semi-autos (mostly 1911's), and moreover has essentially taken over the revolver market.
