    Question AR-10 Carbine or bust ? !

    Hey guys,
    wanna tickle some brains here.
    I currently have an Armalite AR-10 ( 20", M3 glass, A2 full stock, RAS )
My own ver of an SR-25, but cheaper..

I use AR-15s at work ( RRA ), been handln' them since back in my Army days ( 92 ). Monies tight, right... so wondering if diving into the I wanna get an AR-15 world is worth it or should I just get a new 16" upper for my AR-10, dress her up in a RAS, etc...

I kinda dig on a 16" w/ my glass on it and a AP Micro side mounted.
Just kinda tryn to get a feel if anyone else has this on their mind.
Wondering if, with what the going cost of 308 / 762 ammo is, should I just get it and shoot 308 or will 556 still be cheaper, buy'n an AR-15, "bling-ing-it" ( shortdot ) or just use the 308 for all my shooting ?

Kinda just wracking my brain on which way to go.
    Any guidance ?

    5.56 blows

get the 16in upper and shoot 110gr tap for work
which puts out over 2900ft/s and over 2100 of E

mil surplus for practice, will cost you about .10-.15 cents more per rd than 5.56

You might want to think about a sopmod LMT coll. stock

They rock, and has an awesome cheekweld, better than the A2 stock

    Just my 2 cents worth

If its for work I would say get a 6.8 or stay with the 5.56. I enjoy my AR10 carbine but I trust my 5.56 guns more. Not ballistically but for reliability and easy of handling up close.

Since you've got a 20" AR10 already, I'd drop a little coin on one of Armalites 16" infantry weight uppers for it. They are light and function beautifully (at least mine did). Just makes you current platform more flexable. Common parts and all. Do get an LMT SOPMD for it, the stock seems made for the AR10.

    Thanx for the input guys.
As much as I'd love to spend most if not ALL of my available funds on AR-stuff.
