multi caliber marked lower a must?

Hi everyone, quick question. To stay on the complete up and up legally speaking, does a 6.5 or 6.8 build for example have to be done on multi caliber marked lower or can I use one that's marked 5.56? Just curious because if being restricted to a multi marked it cuts down on the options.

Sorry, I know this has been posted before but search is busted for me again. Thanks

I would check your state laws just to be on the safe side.

The Robinson Arms XCR is multi caliber and has no caliber markings on the receiver, so they simply mark each barrel with the proper caliber.

As I understand it as long as you list the additional calibers on your paperwork you should be fine. I listed 6.8, 6.5 and .22LR on mine.

I'm curious, what paperwork would that be, something unique to Kansas?
