I would be willing to bet the magwell was photoshopped. The magwell looks different than the other metal. The shadows are not the same, and the metal looks more 2 dimensional than 3-dimensional.

My bad, and no offense intended. I just saw that on my phone, and seeing it on there probably is what made the magwell look more different than it actually was.
