I've always shot Berettas and HKs but my LGS had a 15% off sale for New Years and I figured I'd give a G19 a shot...its gotta be the most common/loved pistol on this forum and many others, so I wanted to see what I was missing out on...
I would have been happy with a plain jane black G19 but all he had in stock was this gray Vickers G19...has the upgraded slide release, mag release, sights, and mag floor plates. Are these Vickers edition Glocks pretty rare?
They made 3000 of the model 19s and 2000 of the model 17s in grey and sold out from Glock's largest distributor in the US in about half a week, IIRC. By comparison, the RTF2 FDE Vickers Glocks (with LAV prefix serials) got 5000 of each 19 and 17. And LAV is reporting that he and Lipsey's are working on a third run of Glocks that will take up the remaining 5000 LAV serial numbers each - which is why the grey LAV Glocks didn't get LAV serial prefixes.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Glock picture thread.
