It's a conversion barrel I got for my 22. Converts .40 to 9mm. I got the extended barrel with thread protector for the "cool guy" look.

I plan on getting a can for it at some point in the future. I just can't right now as I'm not a citizen (...yet).
The barrel was more a decision based on funds. I was contemplating getting a 19 or 17 so I could go with 9mm. Then I saw the Lone Wolf conversion barrels for around $140 and figured that was cheaper than a whole new pistol. In addition, I knew that getting a new pistol would probably retire my existing Glock and that was something I didn't want to do.
