    Improvement of new M&P

Just purchased a new M&P AR and am looking to upgrade the stock just a bit. It seems to be just a tad on the cheaper side of the equation. Although I really like how this purchase has turned out otherwise.

What brand of stock is the go-to name out there?

Any other suggestions for upgrades? (I purchased the 15t for what it's worth)

    Thanks,

    Shane

Go with a Magpul MOE for a cheap solution, or the CTR/ACS for something more expensive but arguably better. I also dig the Vltor stocks.

I like my Magpul UBR a lot. It's not for everyone, though. Costs a lot, is more complicated then most other collapsables, but offers a good, solid cheekweld and is real tough.

I also like the ACE fixed stocks. I'd probably rock out the entry stock if I were to switch to a fixed.

The LMT Sopmod is a great stock but I like my new VLTOR Imod stock even more.

I imagine the new Troy Battle Ax stocks will make the GTG list as well.

I purchased the MOE mainly because it is a decent upgrade from the standard M4 stock, but only costs about as much as the M4 stock. The CTR is the same thing, except you pay about $20 to get rid of any rattle in the stock.

What functionality are you looking for?

    Good article here:

I prefer the SOPMOD and CTR for my purposes.

My opinion is that the MagPul ACS has all of the best features of the MagPul CTR, LMT SOPMOD, and Vltor EMOD combined into one package. Unless I was looking to outfit a ultra-light weight build, I would choose the MagPul ACS. Even then I might still pick the ACS.
