Painted AR's - show 'em off!

For my first post over here on M4c, I thought I'd show-off my latest build. I've been building and shooting ARs for several years now, and I have plenty of black guns. For this one, I decided to have some fun and do something a little different, all while making sure the end result would be a "shooter" and not a "safe queen".

Here are the receivers and FFT as I picked them up from my Cerakote guy. All are sprayed in "Magpul FDE".





And here is how it looked mostly finished.

Since those pictures I have finished out the build with an Elzetta ZFL-M60 w/tape switch, mounted in a VTAC mount. For a sling I'm using a Magpul MS3 (Coyote Brown, of course!) and I added a Magpul RSA to the top rail in front of the EOTech.

I had a bunch of fun with this build. So much fun that I have another "fun" one planned! I'm dropping the parts for the new one off with my Cerakote guy this afternoon, so expect those pictures soon.

You should send some pictures of that back to zombie defense. The lower looks pretty good how you have it painted up(I'm waiting on my sbr'd one's form 4 to come back now). Guy is local to me and I liked how the lowers have my area on them.

New paint job.

Here is a shot of my AR-15 before I stripped it down and took the paint off. I thought the paint job looked pretty solid but wanted to do a lot of changes to the rifle and so the paint had to go.

Tried my hand at painting today. Used the Pat Rogers method for the most part. Paints were Aervoe Sand, Highland Brown, Dark Green, with OD Green as a final blend. Used camo netting as a mask. I will echo what I heard other places, that first swipe takes guts, but after that it's completely satisfying since I've been wanting to add color for a long time.

Iam still trying to muster up the courage to spray my ar and xd, but the more pics I look at the closer Iam getting to laying some paint

Hey Kilo, nice rifle can we get specs
