Its spray paint. As long as you use common sense, you cant screw it up.
Depends on what you use. If you spray paint it then any solvent will remove it (Brake Cleaner, Carb Clean, Electric Motor Spray, Mineral Spirits, etc. etc.)
If you use a bake on coating like KG Gunkote you can remove it BEFORE it is baked on…
If you go the Cerakote route they recommend a quick bake followed by blasting...

Here is my latest for the "Painted" thread. The request was to make it look "dirty"...so, this is what I came up with. I used two colors, Cerakote's H-265 "Flat Dark Earth" and H-226 "Patriot Brown" @ 24:1. It all started with full tear down and complete preparation (Lye tank 10-15min. for anodized parts, media blast with 120g aluminum oxide, Acetone tank for 25 min., out-gas for 30min @ 300*F, let cool and rack for coating). All parts were 100% coated in FDE, flash cured and mocked up, then heavy Patriot Brown "spatter" was added, after that it got some darker sections with the brown, finally some heavy spatter with FDE to break up the darker sections, last of all finished curing at 250*F for two hours. And there it is, a permanently "dirty" AR15!
Hello, Heres my first build and i couldnt help but paint it lol.
