    I know the nickle will flake off primers and does regularly in my 357Sig handguns.
    Never seen it flake off the case though. I guess I retire them before they get there, though I'm not sure that's possible since I tend to shoot the headstamps off most of my brass.

    I wouldn't expect the nickle on the case to be as fragile since it's 1) not as thin and 2) not getting anywhere near the abuse the primer gets.

    Boxer priming system developed by a brit, used mostly in the US, Berdan priming system developed by a yank & used outside US.
    Berdan primed brass is reloadable, but it is very hard to find primers for it & requires special tool to deprime.

    I wouldn't even begin to ever contemplate reloading steel cased. run.
