    First I had given to me;

    H&R model 999 6" Great little gun, wish I still had it.

    First I bought was a 4" stainless Security Six in .357mag, later became my first duty gun.

    Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman w/ 6" barrel. My Dad gave it to me when I got out of the Army in 1976. I probably put more rounds through it than all my other weapons combined. I wouldn't part with it for anything (especially since Dad has been gone for four years now).

    1993 pre ban W, German SIG Sauer P228. The pistol to have.

    CCW until 2002.

    Sold it, miss it. Wish I'd kept.

    Beretta 96 D Centurion, the only gun I regret buying. I wish I had done more research on how long the trigger pull is. I'd like to get rid of it, but it seems like it's worth more than the $280 that all of local dealers have offered.

    One of my professors, Dr. Fletcher Craig, was an accomplished pistol shooter who guided me on my first pistol purchase--a Colt Series 70 1911 customized by Ed Brown in classic IPSC style with two tone finish, Bomar sight, 3.5 lbs trigger, very sharp checkering...

    When I received my Navy commission in 1986, I sold the Colt to purchase a Beretta 92F and S&W 38 that I subsequently used in Police Academy.

    Smith and Wesson model 645 .45ACP in stainless back in the early 1980s. I'm not positive, but I think this might have been S&W's first .45 auto. Still have it and used it during a handgun course a couple of years back. Nary a hiccup.

    Bought the 645 and a Ruger Single Six at the same time. The ex-wife made of with the Ruger but I think I got the better end of that deal.
