    ACOG mounting on a 6920

    Hey guys,

My cousin just gave me an ACOG 4x32 and I have a few questions before I mount it to my 6920.

Which is the best way to mount it? On the carry handle or just take that off and mount it on the rail?

Are there any tips or things I should know before removing/reinstalling the carry handle? Does it just get hand tightend only?

And finially, on the bottom of the mount, there are two screws. I am missing one of these screws. Should I just go to the hardware store or get it from Trijicon? I looked on thier site and didn't see just the screws for sale.

    Thanks!

The best way to mount it is to buy a QD LT-100 mount.

If you want to use the included mount, here's how-
Ensure you have both screws and blue loctite. Call Trijicon about the missing screw.
Mount the ACOG to the base so the the thumb-screws are on the right side when looking through the optic. This will keep the knobs from interfering with use of the charging handle.
Using loctite, seat the screws. Don't get crazy with the tightness or you will strip out the threads.
Place the optic on the top rail, establishing correct eye-relief.
Press forward on the base as you tighten the knobs. Once the knobs are hand-tight, tighten them 1/4 turn with a wrench, large screwdriver, quarter, etc.

If you buy the LaRue mount,it comes with two ACOG screws. It also maintains zero if you'd like to take it off for any reason. When it comes to mounts,LaRue gets all my business.

The Larue is the way to go. Get one and sell the original.

Sounds like you have a hell of a cousin!

LaRue's mount is the way to go, it is quick detach and will retain zero.

You can get that second screw at the hardware store. I bought a SS one years ago when I had a TA01.
