    Forge markings on Uppers?

I have recently discovered these forums and in turn, being the tech junkie I am, I am researching what I have and where it's made. I have seen various forge markings on uppers and wanted to see who knows what about who made them, etc.

"A" or kind of "A" shape cut in half forge mark on right side of upper

Keyhole forge mark on right side of upper

M on the front of the upper above the gas tube hole(was told it was an "FN contract upper)

Makers of Rock River Arms uppers (no markings, previous to the RRA marked uppers)

Please feel free to add any not listed above.

Any chance on getting another list showing the manufacturers and where they get there uppers?

Case in point, my m&p15A has a keyhole mark on the right side of the upper, and so does my friend's bushy varminter.

Maybe there's endless possibilities, but I've come up empty handed on googling this subject, and the knowledge base of M4C is quite incredible. Thanks in advance.

Those are both Cerro forgings (unknown who does Bushmasters or S&Ws finish machining).

Just as an observation - forging origins are just a small part of the puzzle. For instance - have a DD upper with the BA square - tight fitting on Noveske, DD, POF, ST lower.
Have another "no name" BA forge upper - completely the opposite - loose fit, and kinda rough on the edges.
Apparently who does the finish machining is far more important - as with lowers.
    Per Ardua ad Astra.
STS - gone but not forgotten.

Anyone have any info or links on this? I have an upper marked like this, M over the gas tube hole and no other forge marks anywhere on it. No M4 feed ramps. No issues with it, but since it's on my favorite go-to carbine I'd like to know more about it.
