Is the upper really a Colt?

Great! I paid a Colt price but was a little worried when I didn't see a "C" on the upper receiver.

    Thanks Nap

I have an upper from a verrry well respected amnufacturer with the square on it and it is the worst looking forging I have ever seen.

it has several surface voids that would look like deep rust pitting if this were made of a ferrous metal...

Just as an observation - forging origins are just a small part of the puzzle. For instance - have a DD upper with the BA square - tight fitting on Noveske, DD, POF, ST lower.
Have another "no name" BA forge upper - completely the opposite - loose fit, and kinda rough on the edges.
Apparently who does the finish machining is far more important - as with lowers.
    Per Ardua ad Astra.
STS - gone but not forgotten.

    It's a non-issue really.
My 2004 Defender 2000 also has no markings (other than the white LMT)
