I robbed the HGs off my Commando for my Barnes clone above... now I desperately need to find some more. Seems like a couple months ago I watched a set come and go for $65 on TOS, now that I need them, I'm seeing auctions actually close at $120...
yeah prices have really went through the roof on retro parts over the last couple of years

there is a set of colt skinny 6 holes listed over there now for $70

Got an ARMS #2 for my Aimpoint. Now if I can just find a 5000.

Y'know what I think? Don't really matter what I think. Once that first bullet goes past your head, politics and all that shit just goes right out the window.

(Image conveniently hides the fact that I don't have a FA in the upper, yet, that the lower has a BCM trigger guard instead of a mil-spec model, my AXTS safety, and the lack of a "period appropriate" stock. Keeping the AXTS safety and might swap the BCM Gunfighter for an AXTS ambi CH. Teardrop FA and Colt N stock are ordered and hopefully will be on their way. Maybe I should swap gloves for some sage flight gloves, too, but oh well. More of an inspired build, not so much a clone, anyway: 14.5", mid-length gas on a BCM lower.)

I guess it's more of a Menusar-S than a middy 733. I suppose it could be a middy 723, although it doesn't really look like one (to me), with the mid-length gas.

I would refer to it more as a retro-inspired A1 middy. There are a lot of guys building retro-inspired ARs these days. They do not fit into any certain classification, but they have a retro-like look.

With the newer barrel it would be a 723 or early M4 depending on the upper and lower.

I think there classified as Retro mod ARs and not as clones.

These pics kill me. Reminds me of the range when I was a kid. A CAR-15 clone was "exotic".
