I'm still using my half moon carrier; will eventually replace, but save as a spare, in case I pick up a Colt with a sear block.
Post pics if you cut it to 14.5". I can't quite bear to do that to my 6520 despite preferring 14.5" to 16" with a carbine-length gas system, if it we re anything but a semi-vintage Colt I'd probably have it done.
I did swap out the "half moon" bolt carrier and M4 waffle stock for a Colt FA carrier and Colt "N" CAR stock though.
Plus I've done a couple other "retros" that aren't 100% correct, but I still like 'em.
Same gun as above but doing a Fallout: New Vegas service rifle impression with a Brownells brown retro stock set.

Had one of those. So beautiful on the roll mark side, & so fugly on the slab side.
