Can anyone recommend a good book that covers shooting fundamentals for different styles of weapons and ranges? I am interested in having something for reference that maybe includes tactics as well for SD/HD.
Thanks for any input you can provide.

A single book simply isn't going to be comprehensive enough to cover all the major applications of a wide variety of weapons. It would end up being like a book on "martial arts" where it offers only cursory information on each system because there are so many.
I can think of one book that covers basic carbine/handgun applications.
The Book of Two Guns: The Martial Art of the 1911 Pistol and AR Carbine by Tiger McKee
But even that one is far from being comprehensive.
What you are actually going to want is several books on each weapon system you are interested in and books on specific applications.
For example if you are interested in basic AR carbines.
Green Eyes and Black Rifles: Warriors Guide to the Combat Carbine by Kyle Lamb
If you are interested in handguns you will need a book on that topic, if you are interested in conceal carry you will need a book on that topic if you are interested in specifics of home defense you want a book on that subject. And honestly, you probably want more than one.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.

Thanks Steyr, I read the first pages of Green Eyes over on Amazon, I'll probably pick it up. I was hoping for a one stop shop so to speak but realize it was not likely. This will be a good place to start though.
If you're interested in handgun info, I'd recommend Scott Reitz's The Art of Modern Gunfighting. It covers the fundamentals well, with wood writing and photos. Good section on mindset, also.
Mike Pannone has two great little books (4"x6") M16/M4 Handbook & Glock Handbook. Informative, concise, well-illustrated and always handy. Chapters include Fundamentals, Weapon Handling, Drills, Training, etc. as well as operational aspects of each weapon.

There is at least one other book that covers both handgun and carbine: COMBATIVE-FUNDAMENTALS-Unconventional-Approach-GONZALES
I recommend these...
COMBATIVE FUNDAMENTALS by Jeff Gonzales
HANDGUN COMBATIVES by Dave Spaulding
THE BOOK OF TWO GUNS by Tiger McKee
GREEN EYES AND BLACK RIFLES by Kyle Lamb (rifle specific)
Ditto.
My favorite single book on handguns is still Tactical Pistol Shooting: Your Guide to Tactics & Techniques that Work by Erik Lawrence & Mike Pannone. It covers a lot more than Reitz's book in one volume (including transitions and malfunctions) specially now that it's in its second edition with better color photos.
