    Short barrel suppressor options.

So here's the question. I already have an AAC
762-SDN-6 that I shoot on my 9" blackout and 16"
BCM. I just came in to a 10.5" palmetto upper which
I plan on using a can on a majority of the time. I know
I can use my SDN on it and with a brake I will save the
    Blast baffle some wear.

I'm considering however picking up either an m4-2000
Or one of 3 surefire cans, the legacy 212, legacy 556SB,
or the SOCOM-SB. I've tried searching some as to
on a short gun like this would one be noticeable more
Durable if they were all shot on the same firing schedule.
I know that decibel level will be similar across the board.
I'm more concerned about long term durability running
    Mostly suppressed.

Why wouldn't your sdn-6 do the job? Isn't it fully inconel?

I won't shoot 5.56 out of my 762SD but that's the reason I have the M4-2k. I honestly think you are fine with that sdn6. Robert Silvers would be the one to ask on his forum though as it has been thoroughly researched by individuals in that forum.

Surefire sure looks sexy though I am just a fan of AAC products as we used them in Iraq.

While not sexy, and not as lite as our new stuff or the SF or AAC stuff - its you want longevity and durability you cannot beat our (KAC) NT-4.

    How about a Surefire Socom762-mini.

It is only 6 inches long (same length as Surefire's Socom5.56-RC) and would be able to also work with your 9 inch 300 Blackout and 7.62X51 guns with barrels over 16 inches.

I don't shoot a lot of 5.56 (mainly 308 and 300 Blackout). So I opted for a Socom762-RC and a Socom762-mini. I am going to use the 762-RC on anything from 300 blackout to 300 Remington Ultra Mag and use the 762-mini for 5.56 and for a 9 inch 300 BLK SBR (once my stamps come back).

I say just get another SDN-6. Same mount, great can, multiple hosts. I wish I could trade all of my other cans for SDN-6's, even for my bolt guns.

Why not? I've got an M4-2000 and a 762SD and I use both on 5.56mm weapons.

I'm a Surefire slut but I would get a Mini4 in your position. It's dramatically different enough from the SDN6 to warrant it, and the light weight and short length will make the rifle handle much better with the can attached. So what if it's loud--I've yet to shoot a 5.56mm autoloader that I thought could safely be fired without earpro.

I think I'll go that route for my next 5.56 SBR build. I like that it's a legacy can.

The NT4 is good looking, quiet and built like a brick shithouse. It's also a half pound heavier than its modern competitors.
