You'd be surprised. Almost every CL barrel we mess with is capable of MOA +/- with good ammo. And the most accurate gun I've ever shot is the REM 700 5R 1/9 twist that Pappabear owns... with 77s.

That's a 20" barrel right? I firmly believe more velocity requires less twist. I bet a 1/11 or 1/12 would stabilize the 77's with a long enough barrel or enough velocity.

I bet the 77's out of mine are stabilized just enough to fly well, which from my understanding is the goal of all the BR guys.

Well a 20" 1/12 won't stabilize them here at my altitude. They shoot 4 MOA and hit paper at a 45 degree angle.

hmm, interesting... it might be just beyond that stabilization threshold. Who knows, physics is a b!tch!

I think we got 69s or 62s to fly straight at my altitude with one specific Colt 20" 1/12.... I know I worked up to the 77s to finally get obvious instability, but I can't remember which 60s bullet it was.

    According to this.

M855 is probably too long for a 1/11 to reliably stabilize at sea level. Though it does say 63gr is the weight limit, I think M855 is longer than a pure lead bullet. According to this: http://www.jbmballistics.com/ballist...#US%20Military

I am seriously considering the bulk IMI Razor Core (77gr Mk262 clone) for my purchase. But I'd hazard a guess that it won't match my BDC reticule and $.75/rd is a bit much for range practice or carbine classes.

My BDC scope came with this chart to give some idea of bullet drop for given bullet weight and barrel length. Not sure if it is helpful to extrapolate to any other loads.

Its expensive, but the BH 50gr tsx may fit your needs well. It also performs great from sbr's from a terminal ballistics standpoint.
