The reason I ask is that "thing" you have on the tube would be considered a stock. You can get away with a cheekpad iirc but it would be something like foam wrapped around the tube. I don't think you can take a part of a stock and stick it on there and pretend it's not an illegal SBR.

Yup. That's illegal. Gotta remove that piece that is considered a stock. Don't know why you thought that'd be legal but it's not.

I saw some guy on Cal guns with a "stock saddle" trying to defend his position that it isn't illegal on his "pistol" because it was only a saddle, not a stock. He was flamed quickly. but said he wouldn't take it off, and damned the BATFE. Idiots like him are what cause us legal and registered sbr owners problems.

I'd not try to push the ATF guys on putting any thing that can be even remotely a stock or even
a forward grip.. I've been to a range and seen someone being a D...A.. with a forward grip on a
pistol arguing with a LEO that its legal, and it not a form #2 item with it. the LEO was just trying
to keep him from having a unfriendly chat with a FED. about it.
