    1/3 lower cowitness???

I have searched for an explanation of this but have not been successful.

Can someone give me a simple explanation.

And what other cllassifications are there for cowitness?

    Thanks.

Co-witness is sighting your iron sights, front and rear, through your optic (so it doesn't have to be removed in order to use BUIS). They might be sighted in the dead middle of that optic (absolute co-witness) or in the lower third of the optic (lower-third co-witness). Many prefer lower third so that the front iron sight doesn't intrude as much.
