    NCPatrolAR, I have a TLR-1S on one of my G19's, I've been
shooting it that way (200-250 rnds per week) for the last
6 months and have not encountered this problem either. The
only thing I would conclude is that with the light activated in
momentary position while shooting, the recoil is causing the
operators thumb to come off or lighten pressure enough to
get the required double-tap for strobe mode.

Did some range time at work with the gun tonight. I encountered several inadvertent activations of the strobe feature of the light. These didnt stem from the gun recoiling; it was my support hand thumb triggering the strobe options while shooting the gun at speed.

One thing I did like about the strobe feature on the TLR-1: it is only a momentary feature and there is no way (that I'm aware of) to have it has a constant on feature like seen on the Insight WX-150.

^I remember it being mentioned that you could have the strobe feature on constant.

Quickly tap momentary, then quickly switch it to constant.

I don't have one to try this, however, give it a whirl.

I believe he meant constant as in the default mode.

The only time Ive had mine switch from constant to strobe inadvertently has been under recoil when my thumb came off the switch enough to trigger the double-tap strobe function.

SOB!!! You can get it to go to constant strobe. Thanks for pointing that out. The light is a co-worker's so I never saw the manual or did any research on that capability.

A plus is that it's easier to turn the light off with the TLR's switching than the Insight's

Any more issues with the TLR-1s? I just bought mine for work/personal and brought it for testing on my new FNP-45. No issues so far. I need to play with it a little more..Maybe take it to a 3 gun course...

Not that I've seen. The light has been returned to its owner though and I'm back to using my normal light.
