Don't the anti-piston guys grudgingly admit that pistons do increase reliability in the super short uppers?

As for ballistics, I doubt you're after a 7.5" upper for deer hunting.

Ballistics. Not too long ago , there were a lot of 7.5s for sale and you couldn't buy a 10 1/2. They really aren't very accurate. Nice toy , but no functionality.

I don't live in a mcmansion, I don't have 100 yard hallways. If I can get decent accuracy at 25 yards I'll be happy. I'm sure a 7.5" barrel can accomdate that. I have other ARs if I want to reach out past 300 yards

Not very accurate? The only thing about a 7.5" that affects accuracy is the sight radius.
Velocity drops off. Thats why ammo selection is critical when running a 7.5".
Try the DPX. Reliable expansion at lower velocity.
The 7.5" is very easy to manuever. Biggest drawback is the blast.
I would have no issue using mine to 100 yards with proper ammunition.
I also run a Levang Comp to send the blast down range instead of to the sides.

So far as optics and lights, I decided to keep this one simple. (same upper goes on my pistol lower)

TAC Force. I bought it at a gunshow a couple years ago for something like $35.
