Looks good...that's how I'd get an ACR too.

What you describe is typically caused by a weak or overly modified (bent legs) trigger spring.

ETA: Yeah, I really dig the looks of your configuration. I would just get the barrel cut to 14.5" and have it re-profiled to a lightweight in-front of the gasblock and be done with it.
yes it uses standard AR trigger groups so the troubleshooting and solutions are the same.

I'll try to take a look at the trigger springs later on

called Bushy and got an RMA to send in the trigger pack alone. The BM gunsmith thinks its a binding disconnector. They are going to overnight it for me. Come to think of it the disconnector did feel a bit gritty compared to a working AR I have when I was tinkering with both.

Hmmm, I think with the barrel re-contoured in front of the gas block/piston and chopped at 14.5 it would help out a lot with weight and balance.

Exactly the configuration everyone seems to want in the ACR. You done good.

that's a goos looking combo. I don't know why firearms manufacturers don't ask for client imput prior to releasing a weapon. I'm sure this version would have been near the top of the list.
