I bought a pair of the Hanwag Mountain Lights a few months ago and I have been wearing them for SWAT and I have to say I really like them.

I was a die hard Danner guy and Lathrops talked me in to trying them. I really like them so far. When I tried them on I thought for sure they would be both heavy and hot but they are neither. They are a very comfy and stable boot.

I visited a few stores in my area today and tried on several brands. I liked the fit of the Danner's and the 6" height for ankle support. Unfortunately, none of the stores in town carried the models with the fully stitched welt so I went online and ordered a pair of Danner Explorers. I went back and forth between the Explorer and the Light II but the full leather uppers won out.

Should have them early next week and we'll see how they work out. Thanks to all for the advice and suggestions.

"Alico." - Yep. My Alico Tahoes boots are perhaps one of the better purchases I've made in years.
