I thought the Springfield Mil-Specs were basic 1911s, but with Novak cut dovetals and sites.

I guess I am lucky in my neck of the woods- $550-600 will get you a used serviceable Colt in most shops. My last two Colts came off gunbroker and were both under 600.

Nope. The Mil-Spec is a basic 1911-A1 but the slide serrations are angled and the sights are a taller 3 dot variety.

The ones with Novak sights are the Loaded models, which have other enhancements.

Montgomery County, west of the evil city (Philly). I also forgot that in a month or so, the local gun shop is happening, and though most of the booths are rip offs, there are a few that have killer deals occasionally. Thank you for all the links to used guns and all, but I'm very nervous about buying used and prefer to buy new especially due to warranty.

That said, I greatly appreciate all the help, thank you all .

OK, I found a local small FFL that has one in stock. I will PM you his email address.
