    AR trigger upgrades

Has anyone had experience with G-Trigg or Mega Arms Tac Trigger ?
I'm wondering if they are modified AR units or manufactured units ?
These are names I'm not familiar with, any info would be great.

I'm working with a Mega Tactical Trigger and have a short review started. In a nutshell, I think the idea has potential. However, the trigger is only part of the equation and the existing hammer may or may not be a good match to the MA trigger.

For a product to be out this long, seeing it in many 'pro-photo shots' on various builds, there seems to be nearly no info on this thing. Does this solidify the fact that its pretty much a 'looks cool' part that gains little to nothing in performance? I know many were waiting with bated breath for MEGA to produce a matching hammer for this unit, but since SHOT '11 has come and way gone, is it safe to say that they're only doing the trigger?

I'm not sure why anyone would consider anything but Geissele. These are top notch vetted triggers

Because Geissele does not make a single stage trigger. Their 3G is not a true single stage. Does not have the distinct move, and hammer is released.

My Geissele Super-V is a single-stage trigger. They technically list it as a "hybrid", but Kyle Lamb calls it a single-stage trigger, and so do I.

*I did just go "feel" it, though, and there is trigger movement before the break. I kindof like that, though. YMMV.

The 3G is a single stage trigger. It just has a lot of smoooth travel and a light pull

Wilson makes a nice single stage. Timney does too

I don't know how this thread got off track, but I prefer a two-stage trigger. Don't get me wrong, I like my JP EZ Trigger (for a single stage...), but it's no Geissele.

I bought the JP trigger a few years ago before I knew who Geissele was... once I finally realized, I bought two Geissele's. They really can't be beat.

Adjustments for creep involve reducing sear engagement. The shorter the sear engagement, the more likely the trigger will go off due to rough handling or hard knocks. That's why, when adjusting the triggers of bolt action rifles, they have to pass the bump test (hitting the rifle butt on the floor hard to see if it will cause it to fire) and the bolt slam test (cycling the bolt as fast as possible to see if it will cause the rifle to fire).

This is why I prefer the Geiselle two stage trigger for the AR. It gives you a clean, crisp break while preserving the long sear engagements for safety
