Thanks. If it fits a mid-length gas system without cutting then it will work for me. I have a 9.0 Troy tube but don't want to go through the trouble of pulling the DD and all that just to fine out it won't work.

So is the tube 2 piece then? How would you get rail segments on and off without pulling your FSB if it's not?

I made the newb mistake of purchasing a 13" TRX for a 14.5" Colt M4 upper. I did not install it but when holding it up to my upper I could see that it would be longer than I would like. I'll try to swap it back out for an 11" at the local Rainier Arms store. Other than the length I think I'll really enjoy the rail after shooting my bud's 16" with this rail.
No, one piece.

I know this has come up before in different threads, but since more people are running these now, does the general consensus agree with the above remark? And what is "a lot of lead down range in a short period" - 3 mag dumps, 60 rounds at approximately 1 sec per round rate of fire, etc. etc.? Just wanted some more concrete data as I am looking at putting these on some new builds and I don't typically run with gloves on as I'm also pretty used to my Lite rail with the XTMs.
It's going to be hard to nail down a number like that since everyone is different and the answers are going to be very subjective. I shoot with gloves on and can tell that the tube heated up but can't tell you if it would have been too uncomfortable for the naked hand.
I figured it would be a bit subjective - different people - different tolerances to heat. I was just hoping people would chime in with their opinions so that I might glean some kind of useful information from it.

Behind an FSB it would take some work to move things around, but it's not impossible. You'd just have to remove the FH and FSB in order to get the tube off. IMHO this type of tube is best suited for applications with a low-profile gas block of some sort, in which case you simply loosen to allen-head bolts in the tube and slide it off the gun. I've taken the 11.0 I have on a BCM mid-length off the gun several times to relocate rail sections.
If you're unsure where you want things, and you're going to use a fixed FSB, then this tube may not be the best answer.
