M&P 15-22 vs CMMG

I don't know about the M & P but I know a Colt was sent to the shop. Customer came in to pick it up, pulled it out of the box and leaned it against the counter. Another guy came in, bumped it, and it hit the floor. Cracked the lower receiver. It was replaced but still.

The bolt hold open is important to me as a trainer for mag change drills and on the range, the Range Master can see the bolt back and cleared.

You are talking about the pot-metal 22 M-4 Colt look-alike I assume?

Yes. Colt M4 look like.
I've heard good things about the M & P. The plastic upper and lower are not for me when I can get a real upper and lower for about the same price.
The options available for the CMMG are really worth looking at IMHO. But what has impressed me more than anything else is the reliability issue.
I've had other makes that were just no fun at all. Too many failures. Too many "fixes and tweaks"
A rifle should run when you get it. Not have to be tuned by the consumer.
