    Some quality DBM's that will take AI mags:

    * Badger Ordnance
    * Seekins Precision (coming out new with the AI version)
    * Surgeon
    * CDI Precision
    Take a look a V-Bull bottom metal, its in the same league or better.
    V-Bull precision.

    Care to elaborate? There is precious little information available on Vbull's website.

    I have his bottom metal on my Savage, however the REM came before the Savage. His work is top shelf, the bottom metal is one piece and installed easily in my McMillan stock. I was a machinist in another life, so the attention to the process caught my eye. Very well done. It uses the standard AI mags and from what I've read is the industry standard.

    The V-Bull system allows you to "lock" the mag in the bottom metal.You are able to feed the rifle directly through the action. So if you were in the "bush" and were worried about losing your mag, you could "lock" the mag in and feed it via the action.

    I'm no SME when it comes to bottom metal by any stretch of the imagination,just an end user. I'm sure that the other companies are "top shelf" as well.

    Ed's a good troop, and if you check out the "Hide" you should find some satisfied customers there.

    Thanks for the info, Mildot.

    I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, but I think this is related to the topic- I've just received my first Badger triggerguard and, upon initial inspection, I'm not overly impressed given the price of the damn thing. I guess I was expecting a smoother/more robust anodized coating and buttery smooth mag release for $350. The AI mags have a much nicer finish compared to the Badger bottom metal. Of course if it feeds well, I shouldn't really complain.

    I'm with mildot.

    I have Ed's VBull Prevision mag kit in my LTR, and I couldn't be happier.

    Just need to get a couple spare mags now.
