Nice build, jaxman. Did you use a flat paint or something?

In a world of FDE.....I like it
I was the same way for quite a while. I am going to paint my rifle for no practical reason at all. Just doing something to make something look cool and not to make me shoot better isnt on the top of my list of things to do. My tacticoolness side won out this time though and I'm happy with it. Plus its just starting to get that extra cool worn look now. Which I like.
Every time your 5.45 build is mentioned I want to get one. After I do my Kino build next year that's probably gonna be my next build. Very impressive on that round count. Did you start off with completely stock internals? And what have you had to replace during the 24k rounds. Besides obvious things such as springs. Thanks,
-Jax
jaxman, I'm working on an definitive article but the short answer is the barrel burned out around 11k rounds and the LPK started going full auto at around 15k rds. S&W replaced both on their dime, paid shipping both ways, no questions asked. Also, did the O-ring upgrade and switched to a heavy buffer early on.

Looking forward to the article bud.
Smith's customer service (as mentioned countless times before) is exemplary. I've experienced it twice myself with an M&P and a J frame. No questions asked, fixed quick, and S&H covered both ways.
Fee free to hit me up with 5.45 specific questions in the meantime, jman. PM might be best.
