Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~ Paul Howe
Cool, how does it feed? I know once you start chopping the barrel to 10 or 7 inches jams occur more often. Cool trunk gun for sure!
THE MORE YOU SWEAT IN TRAINING, THE LESS YOU BLEED IN BATTLE
it's a noveske 8.2" 300blk barrel in a vltor vis 1 upper and a set of kac micro's. still deciding on an optic but more than likely will be a 1x4 of some sort , the nxs that's on it was borrowed from another gun trying out red dots vs variable power. it will be run suppressed most of the time , still a long wait on the sdn-6 though
runs like a top , the only issue was tuning the recoil spring to lock back after the last round. i've run 7" , 10.5" , and 11.5" 5.56 uppers on it without any problems , with the 7" upper i've run everything from herter's steel cased to pmc bronze to mk 318 mod 0. i just picked up some 300 blk ammo to sight in the 8" upper so we'll see how it does with 300blk , i don't think it will have any problems though.
personally i believe a 7" ar built with good parts should be as reliable as a 16" ar built with good parts. the only difference i can tell is the wear on the parts and how much smoother the longer barrel and possibly gas system shoots.
after seeing the pics of troy's trunk monkey gun at shot i knew i had to build one. with the stock retracted it's just under 21" long. i have a 10" sig 556 and with the stock folded this gun is still shorter than the sig by about a half an inch i believe.
thanks for the comment's everyone
Nice. I'm running a 9" AAC upper & it wears a suppressor 24/7 so I guess I forgot how short it actually was until I saw yours. I opted for an EOTech because the range in the 220's out of a 9" bbl blows & I wanted true 1x for CQB work since that's pretty much all it will see. If I was hunting hogs or something I might do a 1-4x.
I'm not fat, I'm tactically padded.
