I may or may not use the BUIS. I might replace them with HK 416 irons. I haven't really made up my mind yet. This is actually my first upper purchase. Up to this point I've assembled uppers myself. The SR-15 is the best investment I've made WRT the AR platform. Maybe I'll see you at the range.

Just a word of caution, OE HK 416 sights have a different height. There is a clone version that would work with a standard AR15 like what you have.
I'm not fat, I'm tactically padded.

Roger. Tracking all. I was using the Centurion Arms C4 rear diopter you're referring to and I'm tracking the height differences between those and the OEM HK irons. If I run a RDS I plan to get the HK height LaRue mounts and see if it works out.

Personally, I am not a fan of the way the NSR feels. It was too small and it bugged me, weird, I know. After tossing around a Noveske 16" with a 13.5" NSR, I thought the balance was way off. Ive never held a KAC rail that wasnt a RIS, and I have no experience with the CMR. The RIS 2 has a solid lockup system, especially when compared to the NSR. It balances a carbine out well, and while I wont use all the rail space on it, I appreciate the profile of the entire rail system.

And damnit, it looks pretty damn good too.

Barrel is the baseline Alexander Arms 24" medium-heavy, with a Rainier Arms extended gas block pinned on. Muzzle brake is custom by Ross Schuler. Handguard is the Daniel Defense MFR 12.0, cerakoted by Gulf Coast Shooting. Buttstock is a CavArms C1 with a couple Mount 'N Slot sling swivel sockets I installed. It's pretty light for a 24" rifle, coming in at 8 lbs 10 oz without the scope.
