It's still got some gold flake to it, but it's more tan than anything. To be honest I found the surface finish to be kind of patchy in areas.

My M300 mini-scout also has the same flatter surface finish:

That might just give me an excuse to buy a tan mini scout and turn another black gun tan.

Im lovin your sr-15 i dont think you could make it any better, but knowing you you'll find a way

As far as I'm concerned that gun is done...well until I can get my hands on one of those new Surefire's with the TIR/Vampire heads.

But the SR-15 really is my work horse rifle, close to 11k rounds through it. I just love that thing.

I had a chance to mess with one a few weeks back and the 95mW IR output was nice but the LED was definitely lacking. I guess its a trade off for having the ability to switch from Vis to IR
