Thanks, but it's actually a different upper and lower altogether. I have 2 of the BCM 11.5"+KAC URX II uppers. One is the one with the Triple Tap, which is all black. The other one (pictured above) is set up for primarily suppressed use and has FDE mixed in.

So that means you practically called my all-black upper "ugly." Thanks.

Just kidding I appreciate the compliments, man.

I just purchased same rifle, but decided to go with the magpul ms2 sling, also purchased magpul bad lever, based on using my brothers LMT, also picked up the Magpul AFG to try it out....as soon as it comes in, will post some pics

When I picked up my M4v3 from the FFL, one of the counter guys who has a military and security background commented positively on how light it felt. It does handle nicely, that's for sure.

I had a Gear Sector sling and a Streamlight TLR-1 weaponlight sitting around that both work well enough for the time being, so until I make a final decision on an optic, about all I intend to do in the near term is get an MOE grip, ditch the (too long for me) VFG and get some more practice time.

My v3 takes all the PMAGS and 30-round magazines laying around the house, but oddly balks at latching some of the NHMTG 20 round mags that I bought in late 2008 and early 2009; so far, that has been the only quirk that has cropped up. It really seems to be a lot of carbine for the money and makes me wish I had gone the middy route a lot sooner than I did.

govt middy will be slightly lighter than a govt carbine because there is more barrel under the handguard to be machined into govt profile

    Congrats!

That very rifle is my next AR purchase.

Great choice. I don't know why Daniel Defense didn't come out with that setup as their first rifle, instead of the carbine gas with 12" FSP. Not that there's anything wrong with that one, but your configuration would have been a better seller, IMHO.
