“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” –Thomas Jefferson, quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria in “On Crimes and Punishment”, 1764
These are the three weapons that get the most workout at our house. The Rem 700 is actually my sons'.
Top to bottom
Remington M700 SPS T .308 Win w/ Leupold VIII 3.5x10, Duplex recticle
Noveske N4 LoPro Recce w/ Leupold 1.5x5 Mk 4, SPR recticle

Only other item that needs to be added to this trio is a dedicated bipod for the M700.

I've only been able to shoot to 500 in about 25mph wind. It was a pain in the ass. I'd really like to get out on a calm day and see what I can do.
This is the rifle I used, not exactly meant to shoot that far. Its my coyote rifle and mostly sees action 10-100 yards, and does that damn good.
On the way out to the range

"What if I told you 'Oorah, Yut-yut, Semper Fi, Devil Dog'?"
The two loudest sounds in the world are a gun going boom when you want it to go click, and a gun going click when you want it to go boom
