Anyone With Experience With Gemtech Trek...?

Thinking about a small can for my 11.5 SBR AR15. Currently running a HALO but would love to go smaller (or shorter if you want to be technical).

Was originally looking at the SureFire Mini but they are damn near the same length and the SF requires a 14.5 barrel where the Trek will work on a 10.5 barrel length.

Looks like the Trek would be a bit cheaper too. The Trek is NOT a QD and that is fine since I don't want the extra expense of a QD flash hider for it. Will simply replace my current A2 flash hider and leave it mounted.

But before I decide to buy a dedicated, leave mounted suppressor I was hoping to get some owner impressions.

I'm interested in this as well, since I was thinking about eventually buying one of these:

I've had the Gemtech M4-02 (very similar to the Trek) for several years, and I kept it mounted on my 16" AR for quite some time. I then started using it on my different ARs, including my 7.5" SBR. It finally has found a semi-permanent home on my Remington 700LTR, where it is very happy.

I love how light and compact it is, and it is very effective. So effective, that I don't like shooting without it, and I've finally given in and ordered a couple more cans with QD for the ARs.

    I'd say you've got a good plan...

I have the M4-02 that I keep on my 11.5" gun.

I've had it cor a couple years now and after trying out my 7.62 Phantom and a friends AAC M4-2k and Halo, I realized just how much I love my M4-02. The weight and size are perfect for a SBR.

I'm reallly interested in the TREK-T titanium can at 10.5 oz it might just be lighter than an equal length of barrel steel.

so my 10.5bbl gun would equal out to approximately a 16" length gun but actually be lighter that a real full size 16" standard gun with the added perk of being hearing safe.

Ive got an M4-02 as well as a Trek, both handle well on a SBR. The sound level is pretty much the same. The OD and length are alittle differant but the cost is the same. Currently Gemtech is startign to phase out the M4-02 to be replaced by the Trek.

If it was up to me I'd go with the TREK, just personal preferance.

I'd like info on this as well. I have a DD 10.3 on the way with a 9" Lite rail and I'd like the can to be close to the rail. The specs on it say the can has a 5.5" OAL but it only adds 4" to the length of the gun. How much does the back of the can overlap the barrel, or any info on what this setup will look like? I saw a M42000 at SHOT on this barrel/rail setup, and I liked it, but I'm trying to save some money. I'm not worried about QD capability, I plan to leave the can on all the time.

I'd like to hear from people who have this can, I don't need suggestions of what I should buy instead.
